Gwen Bower
ENOLA - Gwen Bower, 51 of Enola and formerly of
Blain passed away Saturday, December 12, 2009 in
the Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill from
complications of multiple myeloma.
Gwen who grew up on a dairy farm in Perry County
was born June 23, 1958 at Carlisle to the late
Clark W. Bower and Donna B. (Bratton) Bower of
Blain.
She was employed as a Government Affairs Manager
for The American Institute of Architects,
Harrisburg. She has worked for over 25 years
with the Pennsylvania Legislature. She worked
the legislative process as a research analyst
for former Senator John J. Shumaker as
legislative liaison for the Department of
Agriculture and as Director of Government
Relations for the Pennsylvania Health Care
Association. Gwen also served as an associate
with Phillips Associates.
She was founder of Keystone Connections (www.keystoneconnections.org)
providing spiritual heritage tours of the
Capital.
She was an active member of Church Without
Walls, Harrisburg.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her
brother, Logan M. Bower of Blain; a sister, Beth
B. Grayson and her husband Rick and children
Megan & Jack of Sinking Spring, Pa.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday in
the Zion Lutheran Church, Blain with the Rev.
Robert Yankovitz and Rev. Phillip Thornton
officiating.
Viewing will be held from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
Thursday, December 17, 2009 in the Nickel
Funeral Home, 3626 Shermans Valley Road,
Loysville, Pa. 17047 and 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Friday in the church. Burial will follow the
service in the Blain Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be
made to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation,
383 Main Avenue, 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT. 06851.

GWEN BOWER
has over 25 years of professional experience relating
to government affairs, lobbying, and creating a positive public
relations image. Her background includes employment by two state
Senators, a gubnatorial appointment to the Pennsylvania
Department of Agriculture within the Ridge/ Schweicker
Administrations and a lobbyist to a statewide health care
association. She has organized specific media-oriented events to
communicate positive messages to the public and to the General
Assembly. Gwen has a BA from East Stroudsburg University, hails
from Perry County and lives in Enola, PA. She also graduated
from the “Harrisburg School of Political Realities” where she
has several pieces of legislation credited to her efforts.
